MARTIN receives order for construction of new waste-to-energy plant on Prince Edward Island, Canada MARTIN and its subsidiary LAB are supplying technology for the construction of a new waste-to-energy plant in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada. On this EPC project, we are cooperating with our customer, Enwave Energy Corporation , and other international partners – for example EPC contractor Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. and Andritz TEP – thus making a crucial contribution to the modernization of the energy supply and to sustainable waste treatment on Prince Edward Island. MARTIN's scope of supply includes a 1-run MARTIN reverse-acting grate, the basic boiler design, an SNCR system and other ancillary equipment. 🎯 With our high-performance combustion equipment, we are helping to build a pioneering waste-to-energy plant that will replace an existing line from 1983 that is over 42 years old, and in the future will recover energy from up to 90 % of the household waste produced on Prince Edward Island. Together with our customer, we are thus contributing to a sustainable energy supply. Enwave will use the recovered energy in it’s hot water district heating system serving over 145 buildings. 📆Start: July 2025 🏗️ Commissioning: summer 2028 With this project, MARTIN is once again strengthening its presence in the Canadian market – more than twelve years after the construction of the Durham (Ontario) plant. Ulrich Martin, Managing Director of MARTIN GmbH: ”With our technology, we are helping to ensure a sustainable energy supply on Prince Edward Island while making an important contribution to waste disposal. We are delighted that this project allows us to further build on our long-standing experience in the Canadian market.“ We look forward to implementing this project together with our partners and customers. #WasteToEnergy #EnergyFromWaste #Sustainability #Engineering #Canada
