Working at major events - in my world they don’t get bigger than the Rugby World Cup - demands everything of all of us. And what makes it fun is when you’re part of a team who are not just skilled at their jobs but good to be around. Sportsmen and women talk about how friendships are forged “on tour” and, in its own way, it’s no different when you’re covering major events for television. And that’s why it’s been a desperately tough few weeks for our team within the team at ITV who have been together over the last few Rugby World Cups. First Scott Hastings and now our super sound engineer Gordon Leishman. Both gone. Each shall be remembered at services in the coming days. They shall be missed. But never forgotten.
