As our nation approaches its 250th birthday, I've been reflecting on how each generation learns what it means to be an American. When I was ten, my first trip outside Minnesota took me to Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown, and the National Archives. That journey shaped a lifetime of appreciation for our nation's founding. Years later, my wife Debbie and I tried to give our own children the same gift. As one of our daughters likes to say: "We never went on vacations. We went on Kennedy family field trips." She was right. This Independence Day, I hope you'll gather with family, tell the stories, visit the places where America began—and perhaps even watch 1776. I hope you'll sing along. More importantly, I hope we'll help the next generation learn America's song. #IndependenceDay #America250 #CivicEducation #FamilyTraditions Wahba Initiative for Strategic Competition NYU Development Research Institute (DRI) https://lnkd.in/dXHWzuHe
