Hard skills get you hired. Soft skills get you promoted. Most people only ever train one of them. Hard skills are what you can do: tools, technical knowledge, the certificate. They get you in the door. Soft skills are how you operate: communication, judgment, and handling people and pressure. They decide how far you go once inside. The trap is spending years stacking hard skills and almost no time on the soft ones, then plateauing and blaming everything except the real cause. The ceiling was never technical.
