Inspired by dreams, symbolism and the practice of automatism, she allows imagery to emerge intuitively, creating beautifully layered works that reveal hidden connections between people and the natural world. Alongside her own artistic practice, Claire is also a mentor, helping fellow artists overcome creative challenges, build confidence and navigate the realities of a professional creative career. In our conversation we explored her artistic process, her fascination with the subconscious, and a Fantasy Cultural Year that took us from the Alhambra and the Inca Trail to virtual reality journeys through Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings and a memorable lunch with James Lovelock, whose Gaia hypothesis has long inspired her thinking. What struck me most was Claire's belief that we are not separate from nature. We are part of it.
