Driving Business Growth Through Peer Advisory, CEO Coaching, and Custom Training Solutions
From Wall Street to the jobsite, Jim Schaefer took an unconventional path into homebuilding, and it shows in everything he does. After earning a degree in Economics from Towson University and spending nearly 5 years in finance, including at JP Morgan, Jim returned home in 2014 to join his family's construction business. In 2016, he founded Schaefer Homes, an Annapolis-based homebuilder that now serves families across Maryland. Jim comes from a family of firefighters, nurses, teachers, and public servants. That background shaped his belief that homeownership should remain attainable for the hardworking people who form the foundation of our communities. Today, Schaefer Homes focuses on serving the often-overlooked "missing middle" families who work hard, contribute to their communities, and deserve access to high-quality homes and a better path to building wealth. Beyond homebuilding, Jim serves on the Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) Board of Directors and chairs the Southern Maryland Chapter. He is also a member of the Upper Marlboro Rotary Club. What Jim brings to Voltage Forums: a unique blend of financial discipline, entrepreneurial grit, and hands-on operational experience, along with a passion for building businesses that create lasting impact for employees, customers, and communities. Jim's Blueprint: Great companies are built the same way great communities are built with service, accountability, trust, and people who care. Success isn't about being the biggest builder; it's about creating opportunities for families and delivering homes that strengthen communities for generations. Powering the conversation. Elevating the room. That’s the power of Voltage Forums. #Homebuilding #RealEstate #Maryland #Construction #VoltageGroup
