I stole an idea from a close friend and ex-colleague in posting about my retirement. Taking a line from a song from my favourite film "so long, farewell, auf weidersehen, goodbye" to work. After 45 years of working, including 30+ years in various banks and 9 years in various governments, I have decided it is finally time to finish. I intend to play more golf, spend more time with my wife, my family and our beautiful grandchildren. I have worked in some great organisations, visited more than 30 countries with work, made some excellent friends, many of whom are still in my current circle of friends. Thank you to everyone who I worked for, who I worked with and who worked for me, it is all of you that made my career successful. I have worked for some greater leaders who I learned from and admire still. I won't name them but they know who they are and thank you to them. Those who know me will ask "are you really retiring ", I tried it 5 years ago and failed miserably. "Risk advisory, regulatory review preparation, remediation, investigations or just a trusted pair of hands", leveraging another line "these are a few of my favourite things".
