Every Oklahoman likely knows at least one song from Oklahoma!. It's a production we've continued to revisit since it first debuted in 1943, and recently I had the opportunity to write for the Tulsa World about why Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! continues to resonate today. Not simply because it shares the name of our state—though we're certainly fortunate to have such an iconic musical connected to Oklahoma—but because each generation brings something new to the story. As our communities, values, and perspectives evolve, so does the way we experience this classic. The best works of art don't just endure because they're familiar. They endure because they continue to invite curiosity, conversation, and reflection. You can hear more on why I believe Oklahoma! remains as relevant today as ever here: https://lnkd.in/er8xr_Uk
