Dear all, First of all, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has reached out through various means to greet us and offer their support. At this moment, every gesture of help is extremely important to us. I am fully aware that I have had to ask some of you for a bit of distance. I hope you can understand that during the most critical days, I was being asked questions for which I still don’t have answers today -more than 10 days after what happened. Those questions were causing me a great deal of anxiety and distress. I hope you understand the situation and that we can reconnect later on without any hard feelings. Truly, I ask you to understand that this is not the time to give us suggestions on how to clean, how to get organized, what to do, where to live, or how to handle things. We are alive, thank God, and our faith remains intact: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Anchored in that faith, we have managed to navigate our emotions, the help we've received, and especially, the gifts of calmness and hope. However, we remain in a very vulnerable position. We are away from our homes and do not know when we will be able to return. Daily expenses are constant and, even when they seem small, they feel like endless leaks. No one is ever prepared for a moment like this, no matter how much you know it could happen. That is why I repeat the same words spoken yesterday during Mass by Father Clemente, Archpriest of Chacao, and by Mayor Gustavo Duque himself: "This is just beginning; this is only the start." Please, do not abandon us. If you know of any institution, company, or individual wishing to collaborate financially, we will be deeply grateful. Our community consists of 24 apartments, and we are going to need a tremendous amount of help for major repairs and all the upcoming expenses. May God grant us strength and bless you all. ❤️‍🩹
