Fatigue on the bridge remains a major safety risk, increasing the likelihood of (near) incidents and placing pressure on crews and operations. That is why we initiated the ALERT Joint Industry Project, investigating whether navigation spaces can be safely left unattended for defined periods, aiming to reduce workload, improve wellbeing and contribute essential experience data to the IMO MASS-Code EBP. You can still join the ALERT JIP and secure a Letter of Intent — but timing is key. The kick-off meeting will take place on Thursday 9 April in Marseille, during BlueWeek https://blueforum.org. Attending the kick-off (on-site or hybrid) is exclusively for companies that have signed the Letter of Intent beforehand who will then receive meeting details and free Blue Week access. ALERT participation fees increase after kick-off, so early engagement is recommended. Sector interest is strong, confirming how urgent and relevant this topic is for shipping today. We are proud that ClassNK - Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, ABB, Boskalis, NHL Stenden, Lloyd's Register, Seaspan Corporation and Commit have already signed. Interested to participate and construct the ALERT JIP?
