Rehash! Europeans: Catharina de Medici 01. (acrylic on linen, 50 x 70 cms, 2014) This is the first of this series that now encompasses TINA and sometimes monkey kings too because these are monkey times. I painted this when I still suspected that she might have felt guilty about the burned noblemen in the 'Bartholomeusnight massacre' (1572) I realized only later: of course she didn't. She did it for God, it was a holy noble thing, to her, and to half of Europe no less.
