Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Freie Universität Berlin

It seems that this is a worldwide problem in the recognition of science. Budget cuts for science in Berlin also threaten science and education. This is definitely not a matter of supporting the elite and leaving others behind! We certainly need academics as teachers, as doctors, pharmacists, lawyers, engineers, architects, historians etc.! Critical thinking and data interpretation are key skills one can learn at universities. In the last month Freie Universität Berlin together with other universities in Berlin tried to raise awareness that budget cuts will have a strong and lasting impact on teaching, learning, and research. It will change the profile of Berlin as a city and also affect society. An interview with the president of Freie Universiät Berlin Günter M. Ziegler on the current situation is available at: https://lnkd.in/dMNdcz6a For futher information please see https://lnkd.in/dhiP5yFt
