Vice Dean at the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Lapland.

A wonderful way to begin the summer break: our research article has just been published in the respected journal Environmental Education Research. The first author, Xiaowei Zhang, is a doctoral researcher whose exceptional scholarship in science–art education and careful empirical analysis have been central to this work. In my role as professor, I have had the privilege of supporting the conceptual framing and theoretical development of the study. This article – along with several others – has grown through deep conversations held not only in offices, but also in flower meadows, village roads, and forest paths. In the article, we explore how children develop ecological understanding through integrated art–science learning, engaging with materials, embodied experiences, imagination, and relationships with the environment. Grateful for this collaboration and happy to enter the summer holidays with this milestone. NACER Research Team University of Lapland UArctic (University of the Arctic) https://lnkd.in/eGarHGZE
