Excited to share another publication from our research group! 🎉 Our work, entitled "Immunotherapeutic and Antitumoral Potential of Fatty Acids from Subantarctic Macroalgae (Sarcopeltis skottsbergii)", explores the potential of marine-derived compounds as novel tools for cancer immunotherapy. In this study, fatty acids obtained from the subantarctic red macroalgae Sarcopeltis skottsbergii selectively inhibited the growth of breast cancer and leukemia cells while showing no cytotoxic effects on non-tumoral cells. In addition, these compounds stimulated the expression of key cytokines involved in antitumor immune responses, highlighting their potential as immunomodulatory agents. Our findings reinforce the growing importance of marine natural products as a source of innovative therapeutic strategies against cancer. 🧬🌊 It was a pleasure to contribute to this work, which represents one of my first research activities as a member of the Grupo de Pesquisa em Oncologia. I am grateful to all collaborators who made this study possible. Feel free to check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dGjnvtMD
