Ain’t it funny how time slips away…..26 years ago on 13 September 1999, I started in the Public Transport Unit at Perth and Kinross Council. Much is still the same, children still need transport to school, people still need to sustainably travel from A to B. But there have been big changes also…for example, I could not have envisaged that the Perth City network would be fully operated by electric buses! Where you could charge your mobile phone and use your “cash line” bank card to tap on the ticket machine and pay your fare after checking on the “app” if the bus is on time. No musty moquette, No water seeping up through the floor and sloshing about the bus. Wonder what the next 26 years will bring 😊
