More Than One Path: Building Europe Through Connection Review: Brussels, Saint-Gilles, AHK debelux - Deutsch-Belgisch-Luxemburgische Handelskammer - an evening dedicated to European cooperation, economic partnerships, and meaningful personal connections. At the AHK DEBELUX Summer Reception, representatives from business, politics, and diplomacy came together to further strengthen the dialogue between Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The focus was on the future of economic relations, Europe’s competitiveness, the energy transition, and the importance of strong cross-border networks. I was especially delighted to catch up with my long-time friend and esteemed expert, Daniela Theisinger, President of AHK DEBELUX and Managing Director of Deutsche Telekom Global Business Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. As moderator, she joined Jean Spinette , Mayor of Saint-Gilles, Ambassador Jean-Louis Thill , Ambassador Martin Kotthaus , Margit Kunz , CEO of AHK DEBELUX, and Bernard Gustin , CEO of Elia Group , in providing valuable insights into cross-border cooperation and the opportunities created by the energy transition in Belgium and Germany. Our stay was elegantly rounded off with a visit to Stéphane Marquardt’s gallery loft. So many inspiring works of art. The piece that resonated with me most was created by Victoria Calleja: two lights in a slightly unsettling setting: nothing more, nothing less. And yet, it reminded me that in life, there is often more than one path. Change and transition sometimes open doors we never knew existed. They reveal a second path - one that may never have been our original destination, but one that leads us exactly where we are meant to be.
