CEO | Driving growth
As my time at DSR Hotelholding comes to an end in a few weeks, I’d like to say thank you to the entire DSR team in the hotels and HQ and to a few people who made the last two years both demanding and rewarding. 🏩 First of all, Ingo Burmester, Lionel Souque, and Horst Rahe — thank you for bringing me on board. I hope the 3–4 percentage point increase in EBITDA-, EBITA-and NOP-margin from 2024 to 2025 (driven by topline growth, topline growth, topline growth — and some cost measures) is an acceptable goodbye gift and a reliable sign that the decision you made two years ago was the right one. 🏩 Christoph Debus, thank you for your support on our journey to improve the company, for setting goals that were always ambitious but still achievable and for giving the space needed for the definition and execution of the successful strategic path. 🏩 Janina Buchmann, Sarah Zahn, Svenja Oberwemmer, and Christian Happel — thank you for the hard work and commitment you put into pricing, attracting the right guests, and serving them in the best possible way resulting in 10% L4L revenue growth in a declining market. 🏩 Niklas Griffin, thank you for your clear-eyed view of how to operate in today’s environment, for bringing that mindset into the hotels, and for keeping the operations team motivated and strong. 🏩 Michael Ludwig, thank you for being a wise and humorous HR director, with a sharp diagnostic view of the organisation. 🏩 Anna-Katharina Reimann, thank you for always being the honest and straightforward support I needed. 🏩 Michaela Störr, thank you for being the no-frills reality check on my communication — and for having your ear firmly on the market. 🤞 I wish the entire DSR Hotelholding team all the best for the future, especially Thomas Hoffelner in his new role as CFO. Thomas, you started to excel from day one. Thank you for our two months together — you are absolutely the right person in the right place. 🚀 And finally, to my successor, whoever that may be: you’re lucky. You’ll have a strong team at DSR Hotelholding and a great portfolio of brands — aja, AROSA, Henri, Urban Nature, Neptun, and Louis C. Jacob. There’s still a lot to do, and plenty that can be done even better.
