Why go for gold when you can have platinum? I am beyond proud that our new Zurich office - the “Felsenhof” building, to be more precise - has received the SNBS Platinum certification for sustainable building. It is only the second renovated building in Switzerland ever that has achieved this highest possible sustainability standard. This is even more impressive as the Standard for Sustainable Building in Switzerland (SNBS) is one of the most rigorous sustainability labels in construction in our country. Unlike other certifications, it does not only focus on a building’s carbon footprint but also considers other factors such as lifecycle costs and – very important – the user’s perspective. For example, access to daylight or availability of rooms for social activities are among the criteria. The renovation of our office demonstrates what's possible when owners, we as tenants, and general contractors work together towards a shared vision - a sustainable building in the heart of Zurich with a positive impact both on the environment and the people who use it every day. As a frequent user of our office - and I think I speak for many of our employees, here - the result of the renovation is more than stunning. It’s definitely not your “usual” office - but one with character, warmth, and a lot of soul. Thank you to everyone involved for going this way together with us and sharing the same priorities from day one. In particular, my thanks goes out to: Björn Kollmeier and Christian Suter from Accenture's real estate team, Swiss Life as the owners, Evolution Design as our architects, Jaeger Coneco AG and ISG (Schweiz) AG as the general contractors, Takt Baumanagement AG as the project manager, and Alpha IC Schweiz AG as well as CSD ENGINEERS for supporting us with the certification. The Felsenhof building, which will turn 100 in 2027, is a great example that “old” is not only “gold”, but, sometimes, even platinum. #zurichoffice #sustainablebuilding
