Well, this is certainly interesting. Canada is working with GeoMatch (https://lnkd.in/g_qQ9T4c)... How concerned should we be when COA writes why it is discontinuing GeoMatch prematurely: "We are discontinuing GeoMatch earlier because the tool has demonstrated insufficient effectiveness. In addition, external support is ending earlier than originally planned. The COA has therefore decided to utilize the lessons learned from the pilot and allocate capacity and resources to other promising initiatives." (Google Translate translation of website text) According to this article https://lnkd.in/gYdyCwSM, "While GeoMatch holds great potential, its pilot phase faces some challenges: Data Accuracy: The success of the algorithm depends on the availability of up-to-date, accurate labor market data, which may vary by region and industry. User Adoption: Convincing immigrants to consider settlement in less familiar or rural areas may require additional support, such as housing grants or relocation assistance. Integration Support: GeoMatch needs to be paired with robust settlement services to ensure newcomers are fully supported in their new communities. IRCC plans to assess the pilot’s results by mid-2026, with the possibility of expanding GeoMatch to other immigration streams, including the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or the Atlantic Immigration Program." It's mid-2026. What assessments/reporting has anyone seen about GeoMatch in Canada?
