The English physicist and Nobel prize winner Paul Dirac, one of the most influential physicists of the last century, made significant contributions to quantum mechanics and quantum field theory. He formulated his so-called Dirac equation for fermions (the building blocks of matter) among his numerous discoveries. With his equation, he predicted the existence of antiparticles. In the link below, you will find Dirac's original Ph.D. thesis, entitled simply "Quantum Mechanics". According to his grandson, Leo Dirac, "[t]he document's journey to the Internet was slow. It had been... in my mother's... house for decades before she passed it along to [the biographer and science writer] Graham Farmelo, who delivered it to [Florida State University], who scanned it and published it online." https://lnkd.in/g4fT4Q8 (From the archives)
