Fantastic weekend in London at the 2025 BJS council meeting. Intense editorial meetings and dicussions on topics such as generative AI with lot of new ideas emerging and much work ahead, but the young and energetic BJS Open crew will tackle this! Glad to be part of the team among Ville Sallinen Frank McDermott Katy Darvall Giovanni Marchegiani Laura Lorenzon Samira Sadowski! Honoured to have been present for the 2025 BJS Award ceremony at The Royal College of Surgeons of England celebrating the work of Prof. James Shapiro! Furthermore, strong swiss representation at the council with Vanessa Banz, Karoline Horisberger and Styliani Mantziari! Good to see how well Swiss Surgery is connected and appreciated internationally! Finally, huge kudos to Derek Alderson and Jonothan Earnshaw, previous Editor-in-Chiefs of BJS (and BJS Open) retiring from the council, for a combined >55 years dedicated hard work and engagement for the 2 journals and the BJS Academy! Your legacy will continue to thrive!
