Much of the conversation around AI focuses on tools and models. But across the organizations we work with, the bigger shift is happening elsewhere. AI is changing work itself. The divide is not between companies; it runs through teams. Within the same structure, some people use AI to build new capabilities and take on more complex work. Others watch parts of their role become increasingly standardized. That tension has a cost : 93% of AI investment goes to technology, while only 7% goes to the people using it. 50% of business leaders already report workforce overcapacity from automation, as 94% face critical skills shortages in those same organizations. The numbers point to the same problem: deploying AI is the easy part, but building the conditions for people to grow alongside it is where most organizations stall.
