MUASLA will always stay close to my heart — what an incredible two years it has been. Serving as Secretary and Social Media Manager this year has been a truly rewarding experience. From scheduling meetings to planning content, I gave my best to both roles and grew immensely in the process. These experiences strengthened my organisational, time management, and multitasking skills — qualities I now carry confidently into every project I take on. As Secretary, I learned to balance different personalities and working styles within the team, building systems that made collaboration smooth and efficient. I also had the opportunity to connect with various groups at Massey University - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa , including Campus Groups and the Massey Chaplaincy, to bring events to life. Externally, I collaborated with Sri Lankan-owned businesses and well-known brands such as Dilmah Tea NZ to organize cultural events that brought our community together. As Social Media Manager, I focused on creating engaging content and impactful campaigns that resonated with our audience. I explored my passion for content creation, photography, and videography, learning new filming and editing techniques along the way. I also supported initiatives like Project Roots by helping raise awareness of their cohort program through our platforms. Each post and campaign required careful planning, preparation, and post-production, but seeing this dedication pay off when MUASLA was awarded “Social Media Club of the Year” at the Te Tira Ahu Pae End of Year Club Awards was one of my proudest moments. These two years with MUASLA have taught me the importance of leadership, communication, creativity, and cultural representation — experiences that will continue to shape my journey ahead. I’m signing off on a high note, incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved. A huge thank you to my amazing MUASLA team for always being by my side, and of course our photographer Pasindu Anthony who makes my life a thousand times easier with his perfect angles and effortless editing skills. Lastly, congratulations to the new committee, I can’t wait to see how you continue this legacy and take MUASLA to even greater heights. ❤️
