Back in August, I had the incredible opportunity to intern for 2 weeks at Jasper Hee partnership, under Kuljeet Kaur. As a 16 year old, getting the chance to step into a real law firm and take on actual tasks, even just for 2 weeks, taught me so much more than I expected. I’ve gained confidence as well as a stronger sense of direction for my future! My time there was extremely valuable and over the 2 weeks, I had the chance to assist with drafting letters, conducting legal research, compiling documents and reviewing many statement of claims! Although I wasn’t able to attend any court proceedings during the internship period, I still learned a lot about the legal system and the processes that support it. This experience deepened my understanding of the legal world and confirmed my interest in pursuing law in the future. I’m so grateful for everyone at Jasper Hee partnership for their guidance and making my first experience in the field such a memorable and meaningful one. I would like to especially thank, Jasper, Wee Hee, and Kuljeet for being so down to earth and willing to teach me throughout my time there. As well as Keertana Ramanathan for sharing her experience as a pupil and briefing me about what it’s like to be a law student. Looking forward to exploring more opputunrities like these ahead.
