Teaching hand sketching at Bakersfield College has been so much fun! It's one of the architecture classes in the program where I started my own architecture journey. The image is our lesson on creating a colored site plan by hand. There is SO MUCH creativity to be realized before getting a design into the computer. This one is a club house for kids, complete with tree "lookout" and muddy pond for frog chasing. We're preparing to revamp the architecture program and we're looking at creating a new four-year degree that gives our graduates more of what we need them to have in practice. If you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see architecture graduates learn in school, please share. We want them to start out with value to themselves, the firms, coworkers, clients, and the public. How can we get them there? . #WhatAnArchitectDoes #LeadTheWay AIA California AIA Golden Empire
