Our students have contributed to Won’t Sit Still, a new exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery. Through a live brief set by the gallery, our second year Fine Art and Fine Art and Art History students worked with curatorial and public engagement teams to explore the furniture collection and contribute to its ongoing Taking Stock review. Originally developed as part of a 2024 teaching unit led by Dr Anne-Marie Atkinson, the project gave students the opportunity to deliver their first public commission in a major civic gallery. The work was first presented in a one day exhibition attracting around 200 visitors and now features within the longer exhibition.
