MAN Truck & Bus is taking a significant step forward in the electrification of its inbound logistics. Together with its partner JS Logistics, the company has successfully deployed five fully electric MAN eTGX trucks into real-world operations, marking the first cross-border use of these vehicles for transporting supplier components between Hungary and Germany. The trucks operate on both direct routes and hub-based transport networks. On the approximately 520-kilometre route between Lébény and Munich, the vehicles run in a so-called “swap traffic” model, where two trucks meet and exchange trailers. This setup enables efficient long-distance transport without interruptions while maintaining fully electric operations. Additional routes connect logistics hubs in Hungary and Germany, allowing consolidated shipments from across Europe – including France, the Iberian Peninsula, and the UK – to MAN’s production sites in Munich and Nuremberg. This deployment is part of MAN’s broader strategy to decarbonize its supply chains. With up to 165 million kilometres driven annually in inbound logistics, the shift to battery-electric trucks represents a major lever for reducing emissions. MAN aims to have around 50 electric trucks in operation within its inbound network by mid-2026, alongside a continuous expansion of charging infrastructure across its locations. The collaboration with JS Logistik highlights how strong partnerships can accelerate transformation. By integrating electric trucks into daily logistics operations, both companies are proving that zero-emission heavy-duty transport is already viable in practice - today. At the same time, MAN continues to advance its “Electrifying Outbound” initiative, with the goal of reducing CO₂ emissions in vehicle delivery logistics by 30 percent by 2030.
