I like simple frameworks. Here is one. Content. Context. Action. If you have the content but no context, people still spend too much time interpreting, checking, forwarding, second guessing. If you have context but it never reaches the process, then very little changes where it should change. And if you push action without the first two, well, good luck. This is exactly why the connection between documents, workflow and business decisions is so interesting to me. It sits in the middle of operational life. Hyland’s public platform story now reflects this quite well, combining content federation, governance, enrichment, document intelligence and intelligent process execution inside one connected narrative. A lot of organisations are still carrying process designs from another era. More handoffs than needed. Too much searching. Too much waiting. Too much human glue holding together what should be better structured by now. That is fixable. Not overnight. Still fixable. And once that connection improves, people feel it immediately. Customers too.
