Our Senior Economist James Brougham gave evidence to the Business and Trade Committee, sharing Make UK research on how firms are navigating trade with China and strengthening supply chain resilience. Just 19% of manufacturers take direct orders from China, while nearly half have already taken steps to reduce reliance on overseas supply chains, with more planning to follow. Manufacturers are already responding to global risks, shifting supply chains and focusing on areas where the UK can compete most effectively.
