Scientific Poetry: When Million-Year-Old Ice Scent. Founded in 2021, Periscoop Agency is a Dutch design studio built by five creatives from diverse disciplines. Their contribution to Make a Mark draws inspiration from Antarctic ice core drilling, where million-year-old air bubbles are preserved within frozen glacial layers. Core Essence transforms this scientific phenomenon into a sensory collection that captures the stillness, layering, and mystery of time itself. Three perfumes. One diffuser. Each a facet of frozen memory, designed as artifacts of a distant Earth. Creating a collection that honors both glacial purity and scientific exactitude required materials that mirror the clarity and weight of ice: The Frozen Segments: ESTAL engineered custom bottles shaped like cut segments of ice, transparent and weighty, paired with glass droppers instead of sprayers to slow the ritual and remove mechanical excess. The Glacial Surface: Avery Dennison provided Sable Blanc FSC® for outer packaging that mimics untouched snowfields, featuring subtle topographic embossing with laser-cut elevation maps that echo the divide between surface and depth. The Frost Shimmer: LEONHARD KURZ applied ALUfin® Matt and ALUfin® Satingloss with H+M NanoEmbossing, creating silver foil typography that shimmers like frost, with microscopic texture reinforcing the tactile language of glacial research. The collection features Celestine Drift (ozonic polar air), Eonveil Frost (ancient forests beneath ice), and Abyssal Cryogem (mineral ethereal transparency), completed by Obsidian Veil, a diffuser with porous lava stone that releases scent like ancient air escaping a fractured core.
