Renewed efforts are being made to create new perceptions and narratives in Kashmir through books. In this vlog, I examine the controversy surrounding two books recently withdrawn from government school libraries in Jammu & Kashmir: 1. Personalities and Legends of J&K 2. Great Personalities of Jammu and Kashmir According to reports that have led to official investigations and the withdrawal of these books, they referred to convicted terrorist "Maqbool Bhat" as a "Shaheed (Martyr)" and used terms such as "Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK)" and "Indian Held Kashmir (IHK)." Authorities have suspended officials, ordered inquiries, and registered a case over the books' inclusion in school libraries. This vlog explores how narratives in educational material can influence young minds, why information warfare has become a critical national security challenge, and why non stop vigilance remains critical in Kashmir.
