Our new review just came out in Cardiovascular Toxicology (Springer Nature) š« Nanoparticles are quietly becoming one of the most promising tools in cardiovascular medicine , gold nanorod patches for damaged hearts, iron oxide particles guiding stem cells straight to an infarct, silica carriers delivering drugs exactly where they're needed. But there's a catch nobody talks about enough: the same properties that make these particles so effective can also stress the heart at a cellular level > oxidative damage, mitochondrial dysfunction, even arrhythmias. We spent months digging through the evidence on 12+ types of inorganic nanoparticles to map out exactly where the benefits end and the risks begin plus what natural antioxidants might help close that gap. Grateful to have worked on this with a great team. Interested to hear your thoughts on our work! š https://lnkd.in/e6_YrJFu #Nanomedicine #Cardiotoxicity #Pharmacy #Research #interdisciplinaryresearch #medicine
