Review: Mahr at the Forum Talk at Optatec Messe 2026 The #optics industry is evolving – and precision #metrology is a crucial component of this. At Optatec, our expert Martin Beinemann gave a presentation on a topic that is a daily focus for us in precision optics: the tactile measurement of aspheric errors. 💡 How can you reliably check whether an #asphericlens truly meets the requirements – regardless of whether it has been ground, polished, turned or moulded? That was precisely the focus of the talk: Mahr’s MarOpto LD series offers a modular, process-specific solution to this question – from 2D profile measurement for grinding and SPDT right through to complete 3D Zernike analysis for polishing and moulding processes. Particular focus was placed on the limitations of conventional radius and power evaluations in accordance with ISO 14999-4, and how ring-weighted 2D measurement can bring results significantly closer to the 3D reference.
