Today, a section of BBA third-year students had an engaging and interactive session with KN Vaidyanathan on the theme “Good Governance as a Habit.” The session was graced by the Vice Chancellor of Mahindra University, Dr. Yaj Medury, who accompanied Mr. Vaidyanathan and introduced him to the students. The session was particularly timely, as it coincided with the students’ ongoing coursework in Business Law, enabling them to connect theoretical concepts with real-world perspectives on corporate governance. During the hour-long session, Mr. Vaidyanathan explored various aspects of governance and emphasized its relevance in both business and daily life. He illustrated the ideas of good and bad governance through compelling historical and mythological examples, including the Chola dynasty and the Mahabharat, making the discussion both relatable and thought-provoking. The session also focused on how individuals can cultivate good governance as a habit and integrate it into their everyday lives. He concluded by reflecting on the core values envisioned by Mahindra & Mahindra at its inception in 1945 - principles that continue to guide the organization even today. The interaction provided students with valuable insights into the real-life application of governance and inspired them to incorporate these principles into their personal and professional journeys.
