Information & Documentation Systems Governance | IT Quality & Compliance | System Ownership & Adoption
After more than 10 years of working at the intersection of information management, digital systems, and business in research-driven environments, I’m now taking a moment to reflect – and to think about what’s next. Just before the Easter break, I had my last day at Ferring. It was a lovely morning spent with colleagues from our department, with lots of Polish sweets that I had bought in Warsaw the night before. (I do love the early morning Wizz Air flight from WAW to CPH – I often got to visit family one evening and still be in the office before 9am the next day.) It’s a good moment to thank some of the people who made my time at Ferring truly special. First of all, Christina – the most supportive manager I’ve ever had. I learned so much from you professionally, and I will always appreciate the high level of psychological safety you created in our team. I truly thrived under your leadership. And the Corporate Information Services (CLICK) team: Tine – thank you for your willingness to share constructive feedback, knowledge, and expertise. Anders – you’ve been such a great sparring partner! And more of my favourite teammates: Julie, Charlotta, Stina and Maja. We’re all heading in different directions now, but I know we’ll stay in touch. I would also like to thank our department directors. Stefan – I still remember my interview with you and how you spoke about valuing experts across teams. In that moment, I knew having you as my manager’s manager would be a good choice, and I was right. Gita – your support during the transition after Ferring’s latest reorganisation made my handover a positive experience. There were also colleagues I didn’t work closely with, but who became great office friends. Bjarne – I loved our long conversations and your (slightly boomer) sense of humour – we are so different, and yet so similar. Rosanne and Łukasz – thank you for being exactly who you are. And everyone in GRO and GRA, so many kind people and true professionals. Department meetings were never dull. My time at Ferring was also shaped by many external collaborations. Being part of the steering committee of the CorpLib network, together with Pia and Mathilde, gave me a real sense of belonging in the local community of corporate research information specialists. I was also part of CILMA (a network for licensing managers), where I learned a lot from more experienced colleagues across companies. Too many to mention, but just to name a few: Carola, Rachel, Pernille, Mikkel, Rikke, Tine – many thanks for all the exchanges we had! As the person responsible for managing a portfolio of licenses, a big part of my role involved collaboration with our vendors. So last, but not least – thank you for your support: Anton, Madalina, Jennifer, Julie, David, Ash, and many more. It’s been a real pleasure working with people who truly deliver to a high standard. And what’s next? I don’t know yet – but I’ll share more reflections on that in my next post.
