227kg aircraft bomb found in #Vietnam 🇻🇳 MAG recently responded to a large bomb discovered on the riverbed of the Son River in Phong Nha, Quảng Trị province, just 150 metres from a busy tourist boat station. The bomb was spotted by a business owner while swimming, who reported it to local authorities. MAG teams deployed, safely recovering the bomb and transporting it for destruction. Phong Nha – awarded Asia’s Leading National Park in 2025 by the World Travel Awards – draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world every year. The discovery of a large bomb just metres from an active tourist site is a stark reminder of how close unexploded ordnance remains to the places people live, work and visit every day.
