This week in Geneva, MAG took part in the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention Intersessional Meetings, engaging with States Parties, international organisations and civil society to advance implementation of the Convention. We celebrated Croatia’s mine-free status, welcomed Lebanon’s accession, and joined discussions on the importance of national ownership, sustainable capacity and long-term support. We also marked the launch of a new EU-funded initiative, in partnership with United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), supporting under-funded States Parties to progress towards becoming mine-free. The meetings provided a valuable opportunity to exchange lessons learned, strengthen partnerships and advance our shared goal of a world free from the impact of anti-personnel mines.
