I am pleased to share that I have joined Forward Literacy as a Policy Intern! I look forward to supporting initiatives that recognize literacy as a fundamental determinant of health and a key driver of equity. As both an avid reader and a medical assistant, I have witnessed the empowerment and comfort that literacy can provide, as well as the real-world consequences that limited literacy can have on individuals and their health outcomes. By contributing to evidence-based policy and research, I hope to advance solutions that address the critical role of literacy in shaping healthcare access, quality, and equity.
