Tech leaders and entrepreneurs joined us on campus yesterday for AI The Next Chapter: Your Future in Indonesia’s Evolving Landscape. Delivering the keynote address, prominent media leader and Macquarie University student Wishnutama Kusubandio encouraged the Indonesian tech diaspora in Australia to seek opportunities back home. “Indonesia has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to define and shape our nation’s digital future. But we can’t do that without our best and brightest minds," he said. The event explored exciting career opportunities created by the rapid rise of AI and the benefits available to Indonesian students looking to return home to participate and innovate in the country’s growing digital economy. In her opening remarks, Macquarie Business School Executive Dean Professor Leonie Tickle emphasised that age of AI has fundamentally changed what it means to create value. "Macquarie is deeply committed to our engagement with Indonesia, and we hope this event marks the beginning of a deeper conversation - about connecting global expertise with local potential, and ensuring that the extraordinary promise of AI is realised responsibly and inclusively,” she said.
