Driving progress towards a cyber‑safe working environment by supporting the organisation and continuously strengthening our cybersecurity posture, with a clear focus on legal and regulatory obligations.
Looking back on my latest—and for now, final—contribution to a fascinating publication. The reason I reflect on this piece (rather than say an earlier on Digital Ledger Technology) is a small misunderstanding: Justin liked an earlier post, and I assumed he had also contributed to the bundle. That turned out not to be the case. Still, the mix-up reminded me of a virtual reunion with brilliant minds like Frans van Paasen, Brenno de Winter, Kàto Vierbergen-Schuit, Wilfried Olthof, Marc Welters, Michiel Borgers, and Siewert van Otterloo. It also foreshadowed future collaborations with Hans de Vries and Marco Doeland. As one of the first authors invited, I had the privilege of choosing my own topic—thank you Victor Alexander de Pous and Natascha van Duuren for that freedom. I chose to reflect on half a century of cybercrime. Not the most glamorous subject, perhaps, but one I approached with a light touch and clear language. The Dutch title says it all: “Van kattenkwaad naar erger” (“From Mischief to Mayhem”). Curious to hear your thoughts—and always open to a good conversation.
