3 questions every Women's ERG should ask before booking their next speaker: After being in the audience for women's leadership events, here's what I'd ask before booking the next speaker. 1. "What will the women in this room be able to DO differently on Monday?" If the answer is vague - "feel inspired," "connect," "be motivated" - that's a flag. Inspiration without implementation is the most common failure mode of ERG programming. Look for speakers who can name a specific, concrete shift. 2. "What's your perspective on the limitation of inspirational talks alone?" The best speakers I know will critique their own format. They'll tell you when a 60-minute talk is the right tool and when it isn't. If a speaker has only one offering and a script ready for any audience, that's a flag too. 3. "Who is this NOT for?" Speakers who can clearly name who they're not the right fit for are the ones worth booking. Everybody-for-everybody is a positioning problem dressed up as accessibility. I share these because I've seen ERG calendars eat budget without moving the dial, and I've also seen single events change the trajectory of a chapter. ERG chairs and HR partners, what's the hardest part of planning your year? Honest answers welcome. I read every comment. #WomensERG #ERGLeaders #HRLeaders #WomensLeadership #KeynoteSpeaker
