FOSS4G:HU 2026: bringing the Hungarian GIS community together! The Hungarian open-source geospatial community is thriving. This year’s FOSS4G:HU returned to its traditional home at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), welcoming around 120 attendees - a significant increase from last year. Our own Patrik Mizera took the stage to present "Overcoming Data Collection Challenges with QGIS and Mergin Maps". He dove into the common friction points of field surveys, such as spotty connectivity and complex office syncing. Fulfilling our core mission, we aim to make the power of open-source GIS solutions accessible to everyone by providing seamless, offline-ready workflows that bridge the gap between the field and the office.
