Can you build a strong research environment on trust rather than competition? According to Professor Petrine Wellendorph from the University of Copenhagen the answer is 'yes'. Earlier today, she received the Lundbeck Foundation's Scientific Enrichment Prize 2026, awarded to a researcher who has made an outstanding effort to foster diversity within the research environment. By bringing together researchers from chemistry, structural biology, biophysics and in vivo research, she has built a research group that collectively achieves far more than its individual parts.
