ANTIQUITY: 125,000 BC Early humans learn to control fire. 70,000 BC Moss or similar material is soaked in animal fat and placed in hollow rocks, shells, or other natural objects and ignited. 4500 BC Introduction of oil lamps. 3000 BC Candles are invented.
