Digitalaffin und lösungsorientiert – mit klarem Fokus auf messbare Ergebnisse.
✅What a great start to the City to City Exchange between the cities of Nijmegen and Dresden. As part of the Dresden delegation, I had the opportunity to contribute the perspective of the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden and bring additional focus to eIDAS 2.0 compliant use cases for verifiable credentials throughout the student lifecycle. Beyond the many similarities and differences that emerged during the three-day programme, the following insights stood out to me: 🟢Yivi – a foundation-governed wallet that originated within Nijmegen’s university ecosystem, is already being used today in real world scenarios. It will be interesting to see which path the Netherlands takes towards full eIDAS 2.0 compliance. 🟢While discussions in Germany often focus on maximising digital return on investment, use cases in the Netherlands are evaluated and implemented based on their public value. The city’s CTO captured this mindset perfectly: "Oh, the ROI discussion – we had that in the 90s as well." 🟢Rulebooks are not an end in themselves. They can provide an important foundation for achieving interoperability across organisations, sectors and borders. 🟢Digital identity remains a moving target. Questions around regulation, governance, national trust infrastructures and operating models remain open. At the same time, one thing became clear: cross-border is achievable. The work required to make this happen will not be done for us, it must be driven by the domain expertise and commitment of the institutions involved. 🟢"Nobody wakes up wanting to use a wallet." Customer journeys must be simple, intuitive and consistent if we want digital services to be adopted and used at scale. Such a valuable exchange with many insights. a heartfelt thank you to Wendy van den Eeckhout Leonie Lafeber Roger Olivieira (currently fundraising) Robert Schröder Katja Schiffner Andrea Hannuschka Alison Partridge #eIDAS2 #DigitalIdentity #DigitalWallets #VerifiableCredentials #Interoperability #PublicValue #DigitalTransformation #HigherEducation #HTWDresden #Nijmegen #Dresden #CityToCityExchange
