We are expanding our presence in the Philippines! Our colleagues at Lufthansa Technik Philippines will establish a second base maintenance facility at Clark International Airport, north of Manila. The new site will span 157,000 square meters with capacity for up to nine widebody aircraft bays, and is expected to create around 1,200 highly skilled jobs. First operations are planned for 2028. The announcement was made during the state visit of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Philippines, where both he and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. acknowledged the project as a milestone in bilateral economic cooperation. Clark will complement our long-standing facility at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila – where we have been operating for more than 25 years. Together, both sites will form a strong hub for widebody MRO in the Asia-Pacific region, covering aircraft types including the Airbus A330, A350, A380 and Boeing 777, with the Boeing 787 added through the new facility. Our CEO Soeren Stark, who welcomed German Federal President Steinmeier at Lufthansa Technik Philippines, stated: “Asia-Pacific is one of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world, and the Philippines are central to our strategy in this region. With the investment in the new site in Clark, we are taking the next decisive step in our growth strategy and positioning Lufthansa Technik for the future of aviation – well beyond the borders of this region.” #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying (Picture Copyright: Bundesregierung, Guido Bergmann; Lufthansa Technik)
