Oliviero Toscani is the photographer behind the most potent and controversial pictures of “United Color of Benetton.” This picture strikes home for me because it makes me think that we all humans needing each other. If we were to turn off our brains and open our hearts, we would see this very clearly. It is difficult not wanting to hang on to our anger, fear, and pain. I know that very well, they are a comfort zone. Getting out of our comfort zone to embrace what seems unknown, different, diverse is very scary but necessary, because there is a journey out there for each one of us, that is the challenge of becoming ourselves. I am 41, and I feel like I am just starting this journey. I fail continuously at reaching out the way I would like to, but none the less I stop trying or wanting something different. Do the next right thing, what is for you right now?
