It's one thing to talk about the need for transformation, but it's another to actually give your team the space and the permission to do it. Paul, Helena, and I got to witness that last week with McGraw Hill, where Amanda brought together the global professional marketing team – both in the room in Amsterdam and online for those that couldn't be there in-person – to make this happen. Being 'Dutch' about it: the role of the marketer is at an inflection point. A confronting conversation if you let it be, but one that is absolutely essential. It separates organisations that do adapt from ones that want to – and it's clear where this team sits.
