Happy to share our review just published in Survey of Ophthalmology: “Ocular inflammation after intraocular drug delivery: mechanisms, risk factors, and implications for clinical practice.” In this paper, we provide a broad overview of ocular inflammation across currently available intravitreal therapies, integrating evidence from clinical trials and real-world experience. We looked at why inflammation can occur, what increases the risk, and how this should guide everyday clinical decisions. From early sterile reactions to delayed immune-mediated events, understanding when and why inflammation occurs is becoming increasingly important as new intravitreal drugs enter routine practice, together with growing awareness of delivery-related factors such as silicone oil release from lubricated syringes. Many thanks to Gustavo Melo for the idea and excellent coordination, and to all co-authors for a great collaborative effort Paula Sakemi Fukuhara, Maximilian W. M. Wintergerst, Carsten H. Meyer, H.
