Climate change is not a distant threat It is a lived reality for millions of people around the world. The most exposed and vulnerable populations bear the heaviest burden , and building their resilience is not optional. That is why we are renewing the L’Oréal Climate Emergency Fund with an additional €20 million through 2030, bringing our total endowment to €35 million. Since 2023, this Fund has backed 30+ projects across 32 countries, helping communities recover and better prepare for recurring climate-related events. This next phase is about scaling what works, expanding access to early warning systems, healthcare, clean water, and food security for those who need it most. Among the initiatives we are proud to support: in India, alongside the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) and HERA, a heat insurance programme was launched for 50,000 women informal workers, providing direct payouts during heatwaves to cover lost income and healthcare costs. A first-of-its-kind model for the urban informal economy, with ambitions to scale globally. After three years of learning and testing, we are ready to go further.
